
Volleyball defeated in season finale
VISALIA - COS Volleyball lost their home finale to No. 5 Fresno City 3-0 on Friday.
The Giants (16-6, 13-3 CVC) have now lost back-to-back matches for only the second time this season.
Fresno (25-1, 16-0 CVC) setter Sydney Molander's 11 kills helped the Rams win the first set 25-20. In the second, COS had 9 errors and lost 25-17. Rams setter Ally Cooper's 18 service aces helped Fresno take the third set 25-16.
COS freshman setter Valerie Vargas had 13 service aces and led the Giants in kills, with 7.
Sophomore outside hitter Idalis Rubalcava had 6 kills on the night. She leads the conference in kills per set with 3.87.
Sophomore defensive specialist Brittney Roush leads the conference in digs per set with 6.18, and she had 11 digs against Fresno.
Sequoias finishes the season in second place, and will look to get into the playoffs. Seeds will be announced on Wednesday Nov. 16.
