Football Preview: Giants host Modesto for annual homecoming game

The College of the Sequoias football team is looking to snap its two-game losing streak on Saturday against Modesto College at 7:30 pm.

Saturday is also homecoming for COS, with many festivities taking place at the Mineral King Bowl before the game. Fans will also be able to enter a drawing for Bruno Mars concert tickets courtesy of Q97.

On the gridiron, both teams open up Valley Conference play with an identical record of 2-3. Modesto started the 2017 campaign with three straight losses but has rallied back to win its last two matchups.

The Giants have had a different road to 3-2 than the Pirates, winning two of their first three games. Sequoias, however, have dropped its last two.

Modesto has won the past seven meetings between the two teams. The Pirates defeated COS 48-24 last season in the North Valley. The last time the Giants defeated MJC was in 2005.
