COS win their third straight
COS keep climbing the Central Valley Conference standings with the help of their two wins against Porterville on Thursday.
The Giants bats scored three runs in the first inning and never looked back, defeating the Pirates 7-2 in game one.
Sequoias relied on Ashley Paradine in the circle. The sophomore pitcher tossed seven complete innings, tallying four strikeouts.
In game two, COS turned to Paradine once again. She was clean until the sixth inning, when Porterville crossed two runs.
Clinging to a 3-2 lead in the final inning, Paradine retired the side, earning her tenth victory of the season.
Breanne Tabarez hit a combined 4-for-6 in the doubleheader.
After Tuesday's cancelled game at Merced, up next for the Giants is a home doubleheader against Fresno City on Thursday. First pitch is set for 1 and 3 p.m.
