
Preview: Giants host Merced in a CVC showdown
After snapping their four game losing streak during spring break, and a rain out on Tuesday, the College of the Sequoias softball team is back on the playing field on Thursday.
The Giants welcome Merced to Visalia for a doubleheader. First pitch for game one is set for 1 p.m., while game two is scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
The matchup pits the two teams tied at 13-5 in the Central Valley Conference standings.
COS is not ranked in the 3CFCA Poll, but have garnered votes in the Northern California Poll.
Ashley Paradine is expected to be inside the circle for Sequoias. Paradine is 13-8 this season, with a 2.47 ERA. She has pitched 15 complete games this year, compared to three last season.
Breanne Tabarez leads the Giants with three home runs, batting .356 in 2017. She is also tied for the team lead in RBI with 23.
