No. 11 College of the Sequoias (3-2) could not get any rhythm going Saturday afternoon as they were shutout 28-0 by No. 12 Sacramento City (3-3).
They were last shutout in 2012 by Fresno City (31-0).
Sacramento City dominated in time of possession with 36 minutes and also scored a touchdown in every quarter.
Panthers running back Jimmy Hatch was responsible for three of those four as he scored in the first, third, and fourth quarters. Hatch did his damage on 26 carries for 74 yards.
Sacramento City wide-receiver Denzel Hampton scored the third quarter touchdown as Justin Yeaton's 24 yard pass split the COS defenders.
Giants quarterback Thomas Wilson had a tough day throwing three interceptions and no touchdowns. The sophomore from Elsinore finished 22 of 41 passing for 204 yards.

Perhaps the biggest struggle for COS was on third down. Sequoias was 1 of 13, 8 percent, on third down conversions.
COS sophomore defensive back Ron LaForce failed to extend his interception streak to five games. LaForce had a chance at an interception in the third quarter, but it grazed his fingertips before falling incomplete.
A positive for the Giants was Devonte Jones' first interception of the season, picking off Yeaton's pass in the fourth quarter.
Sequoias will have a bye this week and travel to Modesto on Saturday Oct. 15. Modesto was ranked No.8 in the latest NorCal poll this week.
