
Football drop their last game of the season
VISALIA - COS Football's comeback came up short in their season finale as they lost 36-28 to Fresno City on Saturday.
The Giants (3-7, 0-5 VC) took the an early 7-0 lead in the first quarter when Thomas Wilson found Jewison Dawkins for a 21-yard touchdown.
That was the only lead COS would have the whole game. Fresno (5-5, 2-3 VC) erupted for 21 points in the second quarter.
Rams quarterback Andrew Zimmerman threw three touchdown passes against the Giants. His trey came in the third quarter as he found Marquese Livers for a 39-yard score.
Fresno had a 36-14 lead after a blocked punt safety, and a touchdown by running back Randon Tuitama in the fourth quarter.
With 8:15 remaining in their season, Wilson's 1-yard qb sneak touchdown cut the Giants deficit to 15.
Wilson would score from 1-yard out again with 1:05 remaining to cut the lead down to 8.
Down 36-28, COS onside kick was just a yard shy of being legally recovered. They would end the season with their closest lose all year.
Wilson finished with 222-yards through the air, and four total touchdowns on the day. He finishes the season with 22 total touchdowns, 1809-yards passing, and 292-yards rushing.
