Two last minute goals helped COS (4-3-1) get a 3-3 tie against West Hills Lemoore on Tuesday.
"We let some goals go in that should have never been been allowed," head coach Scott Rogers said. "We were however a resilient group scoring two goals in the last five minutes of the game to tie. Im very proud of my guys and the way they continued to play. If we play with that kind of heart and determination we are a tough matchup."
Angel Ivan Ceballos (Lindsay) scored one goal and Christian Ibarra (Golden West) had two goals for the Giants. Ibarra leads the team in goals scored with ten.
Rogers had high praise for his star freshman forward.
"Christian Ibarra is a special player," Rogers said. "He gets results because of his attitude and work ethic in practice."
Jonathan Gutierez (Lindsay) had two assists and leads the team with five overall. He also received a yellow card in Tuesday's match.
The Giants will now travel to Clovis on Friday for their first ever meeting with the Crush. COS have lost three out of four games on the road this season. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
