Men's Soccer (5-4-1, 1-1-1 CVC) three-match unbeaten streak comes to an end as they were shutout 2-0 by No. 2 Fresno City on Tuesday afternoon.
Rams attacking midfielder Noe Prieto put FCC ahead in the 17th minute with a top shelf goal. In the 57th minute, Prieto drew a foul in the penalty box and defender Andres Rios converted for the score.
"We simply have to play up to the level of hustle and determination that those top teams in our conference bring every game," head coach Scott Rogers said. "We have to play with more heart. Tactically we are a good team and we put together good quality. We had some good looks on frame tonight but couldn't put anything away."
The Giants will host Taft at 4 p.m. on Friday. The game will be live-streamed in partnership with COS Athletics and "The Campus" Newspaper.
