VISALIA - Men's Soccer drew 1-1 Friday afternoon with Folsom Lake (6-2-4, 3-1 Big 8).
After losing in their opening Big 8/CVC crossover game to Cosumnes River on Tuesday, COS (6-5-2, 2-1-1 CVC) knew they had to get a positive result.
After a quiet first half, Daniel Villarreal scored in the 50th minute to give the Giants a 1-0 lead.
Sequoias did not keep the lead for long as Falcon forward Jared Watson scored 15 minutes later in the 65th minute.
With 25 minutes remaining in the match, both teams exchanged goal chances but no team could capitalize.
Giant players Jose Hernandez, Jonathan Gutierrez, and Josue Betancourt all received yellow cards.
COS will host San Joaquin Delta at Riverway Sports Park, Tuesday at 4 p.m. The Mustangs are on a two game losing streak after dropping both of their crossover games.
