
Championship Round Recap of the Kirby Mannon Pepsi/Wyndham Tournament
VISALIA - After a close overtime loss on Saturday, College of the Sequoias could not keep up with sixth-ranked San Bernardino on Sunday. COS lost the third place game 84-53 in the Kirby Mannon Pepsi/Wyndham Tournament.
All five starters for San Bernardino (13-3) scored in double figures with guard Glorie Biongo scoring a team-high 17 points in the win. Wolverine forward Chidi Udendwu also added a double-double with 15 points and 16 rebounds. San Bernardino as a team had 40 points in the paint and 42 rebounds.
COS (6-7) struggled scoring, only shooting 36 percent from the field and 28 percent from three-point range.
Giant star guards Austin Armstead and Isaiah Johnson were each 4-13 from the field. With the help of five free throws, Johnson led COS in scoring with 14 points
The Giants will have their last non-conference game Dec. 30 when they will host Ohlone. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Porter Field House.
Day 3 Recap:
No.19 Cerritos 77 - Ventura 71
The Cerritos men's basketball team won their third tournament this season by defeating Ventura on Sunday. It was a close championship game from start to finish, with the Falcons securing the win by hitting seven of their final eight free throws in the final 34 seconds. Cerritos guard Tyler Payne had a team high 14 points in the championship game.
El Camino 100 - Pasadena 89
El Camino guard Martyre Demarco came off the bench and dropped 30 points in the consolation championship. The Warriors were down 40-34 at halftime, but took advantage of Pasadena's 29 and scored 34 points. El Camino looked like the Golden State Warriors and scored 66 points in the second half.
