Men's Basketball open up CVC play with a win
One up, one down.
The College of the Sequoias men's basketball team opened up Central Valley Conference play with a 84-49 road win over Cerro Coso on Wednesday.
Freshman Forward Kentrey Bynum held down the fort with 14 points and 13 rebounds. It was the first double-double this season for the El Diamante alum.
COS (7-8, 1-0 CVC) got much needed help off the bench, as Austin Armstead scored a game-high 21 points. The Freshman guard has scored more than 20 points six times this season.
Arguably the most impressive stat on the road win was the fact that the Giants led the entire game.
Sequoias largest led of the night was 38 points with 3:33 remaining in the second half.
The Giants will stay on the road and play Columbia on Saturday. Both teams enter their second conference game 1-0 as Columbia defeated Reedley 75-56. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Oak Pavilion Arena.
