STOCKTON - COS Women's Basketball got their second win of the season as they defeated American River 66-53 on Saturday.
"We had many mistakes actually," head coach Ray Alvarado said. "We had too many turnovers and just rushing things offensively. Overall, we're a young team working to establish its chemistry. Fortunately, our defense held firm when it had to."
Giant guard's Zharia McCollum and Alyssa Gonzales each had 12 points in the victory.
COS will play tournament host Delta, in the last game of the Jocelyn Mancebo Classic. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
"We have to play well today versus a very good Delta College team to get a result," Alvarado said.
