The No.2-seeded College of the Sequoias women's basketball team led wire-to-wire in their 77-44 victory over No. 15 Sacramento City (14-17).
Darci Finnigan came off the bench for the Giants and scored a team-high 13 points. She was 3-for-4 from the three-point line, and 5-of-6 from the field.
Despite shooting 1-of-10, Idalis Rubalcava was a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line. In addition to her six points, she had a team-high 13 rebounds.
COS (26-3) struggled as a whole from the field shooting 39-percent. Turnovers also hurt the Giants, as they committed 22.
Sequoias made up for their mistakes with 54 rebounds and 24 second chance points.
COS also used their deep bench to score 43 points, compared to Sacramento's 5.
The Giants will host No. 10 American River (19-10) on Saturday in the quarterfinals. COS defeated the Beavers 66-53 in November. Tip off at Porter Field House is set for 7 p.m.
